The Uganda Cranes have stormed the finals of the 2015 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup with a 5-3 penalty shootout following a barren draw after extra time.
Ismail Watenga was the man of the match for the Ugandan side. Uganda now plays Rwanda’s Amavubi stars in the finals on Saturday.
On another good note Uganda has further improved by five places to 63rd on the latest FIFA rankings.
The rise in ranking is attributed to the back to back victories in the FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifiers over Togo.
Uganda now has 550 points and comfortably sits 63rd out of the 208 FIFA member nations.
Belgium maintains the number one slot followed by Argentina Spain world champions, Germany and Chile in the top five positions.
