Uganda will rally behind Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Minister Amina Mohammed of Kenya for the Chairperson of the African Union, whose elections are due in January next year.

Five candidates are in the race to replace Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma as the chairperson of the African Union Commission, including  Abdoulaye Bathily of Senegal, Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi of Botswana, Moussa Faki Mahamat of Chad and Agapito Mba Mokuy of Equatorial Guinea as well as Amina from Kenya.

State minister for Foreign Affairs, Henry Okello Oryem tells KFM that the East African bloc will rally behind one candidate, for regional benefit.
