Vote tallying is still ongoing at the Kololo tally centre.

Yesterday, Ugandans in 56 electoral areas went to  the polls to elect their municipality and division mayors and councillors.

The exercise was marred with a lot of irregularities and in some places like Lugazi stuffed ballot papers were found.

In Entebbe, soldiers grabbed registers from electoral commission officials.

Our reporter Shabibah Nakirigya who is at the Kololo tally center says so far NUPs Paul Mugambe has been declared the mayor elect for Nakawa division.

He managed to poll 32,754 votes beating his closes contender NRMs Bruhan Byaruhanga who polled 2,061.

In Kampala central  division  NRM flag bearer Salim Uhuru has been declared as the new division mayor with 13,114 followed by NUP candidate Semugooma Hamdan  and trailing in the third place is incumbent  Sserunjogi  Charles Musoke  with 5318 votes.
