Power distributor, UMEME has dismissed as false reports making rounds on social media that they have plans of switching off electricity on the eve of polling day on January 13th and the actual polling day on January 14th.

In a statement issued last evening, UMEME reaffirmed its commitment to keep the lights on maintaining that there will be no scheduled load shedding on the two days.

As Ugandans go to the polls, many are taking every detail with cautious and speculating about anything they think could hamper with the election.

There are currently reports of slow internet with many allegedly failing to download VPN technology to bypass any disruptions in case they are cut from accessing social media platforms like Facebook and twitter and Whatsapp.
