UN Chief chooses women

The UN Secretary-General designate is making good on his promise to make gender equality “a clear priority” during his tenure.
Antonio Guterres who was recently sworn-in as the ninth Secretary-General succeeding Ban Ki-moon has named three women to top posts.
In an effort to lead by example, the UN set a 50-50 gender balance goal for its staff to be achieved by the year 2000.
Although the organization is far from reaching its target, its new head has promised to bring this dream closer to reality a few weeks before he takes office on 1 January 2017.
