The former Uganda national roads Authority boss Eng Peter Ssebanakitta has today failed to provide convincing answers to the UNRA commission of inquiry over the ongoing mess at Kawempe Kafu road construction.

The UNRA commission of inquiry counsel Mary Kisakye kept on asking Eng. Ssebanakitta how the country lost close to 15 billion shillings just in Variation Of Prices but he kept on going off track.

The commission of inquiry also learnt that Eng. Ssebanakitta in what is expected to be conflict of interest extended the road contract from 18 month ordinary in the contract to 49.5 month.

In defence Ssebanakitta kept on blaming the road contracts officer.

The commission chairman Catherine Bamugemereire wondered how one contractor was used on two different road projects and paid double.
