The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC), has launched a nationwide mobilization campaign in preparation for the 2025/2026 general elections.

Speaking to the media at party headquarters in Kampala this morning, UPC spokesperson, Sharon Arach Oyat, said the drive kicks off on Friday, in the Northern districts of Apac and Kwania where the party president Jimmy Akena, is expected to grace the grand of the mobilization campaign.

Oyat noted that the campaign will involve organizing party structures, mobilization and recruitment of members into the party, and identifying potential candidates who shall carry the UPC flag in the forthcoming general elections.

She said that they don’t expect any interference from security agencies as the party has already notified the police about the planned campaign.

She called upon party members to embrace the activities in order to strengthen the party as they look for new supporters.
