The UPDF Deputy Chief of Civil Military cooperation Col.John Paul Ssonko says they are committed to working closely with NEMA to curb the use of the banned polythene material by the public.

Ssonko adds that they have directed their officers across the country to establish polythene collection centers and intensify public sensitization on polythene waste management.

Recently NEMA enforced a ban on plastic packaging bags below 30 microns as one of the ways of protecting the environment.
