Police in Nateete have in detention 45 people who were arrested at local artist Mathias Walukaaga’s residence yesterday night.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala metropolitan deputy police spokesperson says the arrests were made during a police operation in Nsangi at around 12 am, at Walukaga’s home located in Maya Sub County Wakiso District.

He explains that it was after they received information that a group of people had gathered at the musician’s home for reasons not yet known.

Most of the suspects arrested who are residents from Kawempe Division are detained on charges of doing negligent acts likely to spread infection of disease.

Walukaga however wasn’t arrested as upon seeing the officers, he ran inside his house.

Police say the suspects are being processed and will be arraigned in court.
