Works and Transport Minister Abraham Byandala is today expected at the police Special Investigations Unit in Kireka, a Kampala suburb for questioning over the Mukono Katosi road project scam.
The police last week on Wednesday issued criminal summons against the minister after he snubbed two appearances before the police to record a statement in regard to the botched Mukono-Katosi road construction deal.
The minister is needed to explain himself on matters relating to a letter he allegedly wrote on the 14th Dec 2013 instructing the acting Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) executive director to sign the contract with a Chinese company.
According to the police deputy spokesperson Polly Namaye, the minister has to appear in person today.
