Government is phasing out free access to medical services in Mulago beginning next financial year.
Health minister Jane Ruth Aceng says cabinet will soon finalize a bill that shall be brought before parliament to support the policy.
The minister says the idea was thought out due increased vandalism of equipment in public health facilities and inefficiencies associated with medical practitioners in the health facilities.
She says when the renovation process is finalized, Mulago hospital will mainly be offering specialized medical services to be paid for by the public.
