The government has been asked to investigate reports of illegal immigrants entering Uganda from neighboring countries like DR Congo and Rwanda.
According to Hon Eric Musana the Buyaga East Member of Parliament in Kagadi district, a number of foreigners have invaded the forest reserves and wet lands leading to environmental degradation.
His concerns come in the wake of similar concerns raised by the National forestry authority sector manager Ndyanabo Uzziah who recently decried the increased forest encroachment by people alleged to be foreigners.
Musana has now called on police to intervene before these people become a security threat to citizens.
However the Albertine regional police Commander Ronnie Waiswa has dismissed the reports saying no mass entry of foreigners has been sighted.
