The body of a 23 year-old man has been found in a valley dam in Rakai district.

The deceased has been identified as Damiano Arinaitwe.

He had reportedly gone swimming with his colleagues when he drowned.

Rakai district police commander Paul Bwakwana says they have managed to retrieve the body, but has warned residents to desist from swimming in unprotected water sources.

Kivampuno Valley dam in which the deceased drowned was recently launched under the Bulk Water Project aimed at solving the problem of water scarcity in Rakai district.
