President Museveni accords former Minister Kalema’s Official burial

President Museveni has accorded the former minister of public service Lay Canon Rhoda Nakibuuka Kalema, 96, an official burial.

The deceased will also be accorded a gun salute

Kalema passed away on Sunday (03/July/2025) at Nairobi Hospital in Kenya.

She, who was the minister for public Service from 1989, to 1991.

The President has also put in place a National Organising Committee to be chaired by the Minister for presidency, Milly Babalanda, together with other representatives.

According to the tentative burial program, the body of the late Nakibuuka will arrive at Entebbe Airport tomorrow Wednesday.

Thursday, 7th, August in the morning, a church service will be held at Namirembe Cathedral, and evening there will be a vigil at the late’s home in Muyenga.

Friday, 8th, August, the body will leave Kampala for Kiboga.

Burial is expected to take place this Saturday, 9th, August at her ancestral home in Kibogo.
