Government warned on evacuating street children

Government has been asked to consider rehabilitating street children instead dumping them in children home.

Ministry of gender last week declared today as the last day to see any children on the street, while many have been arrested and taken in various government children’s home.

According to the chairman parliamentary forum on children Hon Bernard Atiku, removing these children from the street has been every one’s goal, but what happens after is still an answered question.

He said that government must design comprehensive program to change lives of these children completely instead of putting them in children’s home which is likely to be a temporary measure.
