Tourist arrivals expected to grow – report

Tom Brian Angurini | January 5, 2024

A new report by BMI Fintech Solutions International has projected that the number of tourist arrivals in Uganda will increase over the next one month compared to the same period in 2023.

The report also forecasts 2024 to mark a full recovery in the country’s tourist arrivals as they rise above pre-pandemic levels since 2019.

Stefania Molica, an economic forecaster at the organization, says arrival numbers are also expected to increase between 2025 and 2027.

She explains that over the short to medium term, a large proportion of the country’s arrivals will be from within the African region, however, the country will also attract high-spending tourists from North America and European regions.
