Kampala Central Mayor, Salim Uhuru, has expressed shock at the huge sums of money being splashed in the ongoing NRM Central Executive Committee elections, saying he has never witnessed such levels of spending.
Speaking on NTV this morning, Uhuru insisted he would not use his small business earnings to bribe delegates for votes, stressing that his campaign is based on service, not corruption.
“People have money in sacks if you do not know, I have never seen money in sacks but this time round I have seen and they are giving it out. So me and my business I cannot match those big tycoons who are running with such kinds of money but however, with or without money I am in this race for Kampala region , there is no better candidate who has political track record like mine,” Uhuru narrates.
