Sensitisation on Hepatitis E continues

Local leaders in Napak district continue sensitizing communities on good hygiene practices to prevent the spread of Hepatitis E.

The area has been hit by an outbreak of Hepatitis E that has left 15 people killed and several others affected.

Speaking to KFM, the area woman MP Stella Nyomera said although sensitization is on, some practices like sharing straws while drinking local brew are hard to stop.

The ministry of health recently banned the sale of drinks on the roadsides in the Karamoja region as one of the ways to avoid further spread of the virus.
