ACCU welcomes minister Kabafunzaki suspension

Reporter | April 15, 2017

The Anti-Corruption Coalition Uganda has welcomed the suspension of State Labor Minister Herbert Kabafunzaki.

This is after President Yoweri Museveni ordered the minister embroiled in a bribery scandal out of office to allow for smooth investigations of the matter.

The minister was arrested a week ago as he reportedly attempted to solicit and receive a Shs5m bribe from an investor.

Now speaking to KFM, the coalition’s executive director Ms Cissy Kagaba says while suspending Kabafunzaki is good, it is not enough.

She has urged the government’s anti-graft bodies to ensure the matter is dealt with to its logical conclusion.
