Acholi caucus mourns Oulanyah

Acholi parliamentary caucus has mourned the former speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanyah.

Oulanyah was pronounced dead, yesterday afternoon by President Museveni.

He died from Seattle in the United States, where he flown last month for further treatment.

The chairperson of MPs, Acholi region caucus Athnony Akol has described Oulanyaha has a jolly and pro-people person.

He said that they will miss him as a region.

Oulanyah was also the Member of Parliament representing the Omoro County constituency, in Omoro District.

Oulanyah died at 57, he was elected Speaker on 24 May 2021, after defeating the former Speaker Rebecca Kadaga.

He had served as Deputy Speaker of parliament, from May 2011 until May 2021.
