By Samuel Ssebuliba:

The controversial motion to seek leave of parliament to table a private members’ bill on the lifting of the age limit has been deferred to next week by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

Speaking during the plenary session this afternoon Jacob Olanya said in a meeting they had earlier with Speaker Rebecca Kadaga, it has been resolved that this matter be given adequate time for scrutiny before its tabled for debate.

He said that parliament has received a lot of petition on the same matter, thus ample time is needed before allowing the motion to appear on the Order Paper.

Meanwhile Oulanya has faulted members of parliament for inciting members of the public to react as if parliament is plotting something ill against the whole country .
