Air Uganda plans to resume business in August this year.

The news comes two weeks after The Civil Aviation Authority revoked the operating license of Air Uganda, Uganda Air Cargo and Transafric citing non-compliance to international aviation safety standards

Some of the officials who preferred anonymity because they are not authorized to speak on behalf of the company told KFM that they have suffered a 1.3 million dollar loss since their aircrafts were grounded.

Meanwhile, air transport fares have since been shooting up and now almost doubled.

For instance, the Entebbe –Nairobi flight is now at 631 dollars using Kenya Airways compared to 267 dollars charged by Air Uganda.

For the Nairobi- Dar-es- Salaam route 852 dollars is charged compared to 401 dollars charged by Air Uganda.

While for the Entebbe-Juba route 1,109 dollars is charged up from 457 dollars.
