The Church of Uganda Arch-Bishop Stanley Ntagali who also doubles as the chancellor Uganda Christian University, has asked government to waiver taxes on private education institutions.

Officiating at the 19th graduation of the Univesrity, Ntagali said education being a service should not be taxed.

He commended the former finance minister prof Ezra Suruma in his absentia as the guest of honor for waiving income tax off universities during his time something he says has since polished the education sector in Uganda.

Over 1000 students have today been awarded with degrees and certificates in various fields.
