Detained veteran opposition politician Dr Kizza Besigye has been rushed from Luzira prison to a private clinic in one of the suburbs of Kampala, his lawyer said on Sunday.

Mr Erias Lukwago who is also Kampala Lord Mayor said in a Sunday evening post on X that the ailing former presidential candidate had been rushed to a Clinic located in Bugolobi – Kampala in an ambulance.

“More prayers for Dr Besigye currently at a private medical facility in Bugoloobi where he was rushed in an ambulance after his health condition deteriorated,” Mr Lukwago said hours after 1CT and national guidance minister, Dr Chris Baryomunsi said he had visited him at Luzira prison. Read more
