Besigye wants Ofwono Opondo arrested

Reporter | November 24, 2014

Former FDC president Dr. Kiiza Besigye is calling for the arrest of the government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo over his claims that some opposition leaders are engaged in rebel activities in DR.Congo.

Ofwono Opondo yesterday revealed that Besigye’s aide Sam Mugumya who is currently held in Congo had confessed that some opposition leaders including MPs were engaged in subversive activities and that government was monitoring them.

Besigye says Opondo must be tasked to produce Mugumya before courts of law since he knows his where abouts.

Besigye however says this is not the first time opposition leaders are linked to rebel activities in Congo and therefore they are ready for any action government chooses to take.
