Boda boda rider sentenced to a year in jail for riding without a driving permit

City Hall Court has sentenced a boda boda rider to a one year and two months imprisonment after found him guilty of driving a motor cycle without a driving permit and a third party insurance.
Azizi Ssekitoleko has been convicted by court’s grade one magistrate Moses Nabende after he observed the evidence of four prosecution witnesses and found out that he committed the offence.
The magistrate also ordered him to pay a fine of 1.1million shillings in case he fails to serve a 14 months’ imprisonment.
Prosecution led by Pamela Orogot states that, Ssekitoleko on July 28th 2017 at Acacia Avenue in Kampala at around 9; 00pm was found driving a motor cycle without a driving permit and third party.
The convict was arrested by police officers from Kira road police station who was patrolling the area.
