At least one person is confirmed to have  died while another has been critically injured following a road crash that occurred on Monday morning in Bugweri District.

The crash happened in Idudi Town Council along the Bugweri-Bugiri road.

Busoga East police spokesperson Michael Kafayo says the road crash involved an Isuzu Elf Truck registration No UAF 788M and a Motorcycle registration No UFT 468Y.

Michael  Kafayo explains that according to preliminary investigations, the truck driver made an abrupt turn off from the road coming from Bugiri,  knocking two people who were travelling on a motorcycle.

He has identified the deceased as Kassim Muruta, a resident of Naitandu village in Makutu sub-county, adding that the police are hunting for the truck driver who is currently on the run.
