Shock and grief have engulfed the police in Bukedea Town Council after they found the body of their colleague hanging on a tree after allegedly committing suicide.

The East Kyoga Region Police spokesperson Juma Nyene has identified the deceased as Cadet ASP Ronald Wamatoi who was on probation.

Nyene says the officer who had been attached to Bukedea Police Station developed a mental problem last week and his relatives took him home from where he disappeared later.

He says the deceased used his belt to hang himself.
