Bunyoro PM accuses refugees on encroachment

David Kugonza | August 29, 2017

By Ruth Anderah:

The Prime Minister of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Norman Lukumu has told the land commission of inquiry that refugees have encroached on the kingdom land and it has become difficult to evict them.

Appearing before the commission chaired by Justice Catherine Bamugemeire this morning, Lukumu also accuses refugees of selling the kingdom land without permission.

He adds that because of such challenges, Bunyoro kingdom has not benefited from the properties which were returned by government.

He also gave an example of the kingdom forest reserves that are still held under the National Forest Authority.
