Cholera strikes in Busia

admin | November 6, 2015

An outbreak of Cholera has struck Busia District again leaving two people dead while five others are in critical condition.

The acting district health officer Dr Lilly Achayo says the epidemic has struck five sub-counties of Eastern Division, Busia Municipality, Busitema, Ikuda and Dabani.

The disease is reported to have struck Busia district, after the onset of the El-nino rains which have continued to pound the whole country.

DrAchayo says the cases have been confined in Busia health centre IV.

Other patients have been barred from visiting the ward as a control measure to prevent more people from getting infected.
