The clerk to parliament has announced a plenary sitting on Friday.

A statement from the clerk, Adolf Mwesige said the sitting will be held at Kololo in which they will elect the new speaker of parliament.

MPs have also been tasked to take covid-19 tests today, ahead of the Friday sitting, and reminded to observe all standard operating procedures.

The position of the speaker fell vacant after the demise of the speaker Jacob Oulanyah on Sunday, in Seattle United States.
