Committee chairpersons and clerks will be held liable for delays in passing of bills.

The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has warned them against not executing business with in the stipulated time of 45 days.

Kadaga says committees are facilitated but the pace at which they handle parliamentary businesses is worrying.

She blames clerks for the poor quality reports on the floor of parliament threatening to name and shame those implicated.

Kadaga says benchmarking trips to other parliament is to be regulated because some committees never present reports.

The speaker was this morning opening the seminar for chairpersons, deputies and commissioners in Entebbe.
