Boat capsizes

The Congolese government has spoken out on the recent boat accident that claimed the lives over 100 refugees on Lake Albert.

Addressing a news conference the Congolese ambassador to Uganda Charles Lokonga asked the government of Uganda to provide answers regarding the cause of the accident.

Lokonga also asked that appropriate measures be taken to ensure that such a tragedy is avoided in the future.

He however thanked Ugandan authorities for all the support rendered.

A tripartite meeting is set for April 21-24 in Kampala to study the practical arrangements for voluntary repatriation.
