In Masaka, the police are holding a man for allegedly defiling three children.

The suspect identified as Safari Lubalusewa a resident of Gulama Village has also been working as a village crime preventer.

The victims aged 13, 10 and 8 years are all pupils of St Joseph Gulama Primary school where the suspect also works as a night watchman.

The suspect was allegedly caught defiling the minors from an unfinished house in which the children were playing.

The Southern Region Police Spokesperson Noah Sserunjoji has confirmed Safaris’ arrest. He says the victims will undergo HIV tests as investigations into the matter continue.

Sserunjoji says that Safari is likely to face charges of aggravated defilement.

Locals have however expressed fears that justice may not be served since the suspect works directly with the police.
