The 3rd Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs, Hajji Ali Kirunda Kivejinja has been transferred to a hospital in Kampala after he was involved in a car accident last night.

The Busoga East Police spokesperson James Mubi confirms that the deputy premier sustained minor injuries and briefly admitted at the Nile International Hospital in Jinja before being transferred to Kampala.

He says the accident occurred at Buwunga B Village in Magamaga along the Jinja-Iganga highway in Mayuge district at 8:00pm.

It involved Kivejinja’s official Land Cruiser car Reg No UG0019I and a Tractor UAN 051P that were both moving from Iganga heading towards Jinja.

Mubi says the cause of the accident is yet to be established but both vehicles have been towed to Magamaga police station as investigations continue.
