Display officer arrested for losing register

Police in Tororo have arrested a display officer on allegations of losing a voters’ register.

The Bukedi region regional Police Spokesperson, Michael Odongo has identifies the suspect as Rose Adikini stationed at Osukuru primary polling center in Osukuru sub-county.

Upon interrogation, the suspect said her boyfriend sent her to buy chicken in a nearby restaurant and when she returned, the boyfriend had disappeared with the register.

Odongo said suspect is currently detained at Tororo central police station and she will be charged with neglect of duty.

The Eastern regional election officer, Umar Kiyimba acknowledged the disappearance of the voters register that had over 946 voters.
