Dp wants IGP to step down

David Kugonza | September 6, 2017

By Ritah Kemigisa:

The opposition Democratic Party has asked the police Chief Gen Kale Kayihura to step down if his force cannot produce a comprehensive report on the scores of women that have murdered in Wakiso district and other parts of the country.

Addressing journalists at the party headquarters this morning, the acting Secretary General Gerald Siranda said these murders are an indication that the police force has failed to protect civilians under Gen Kayihura’s watch.

Siranda adds that the Democratic Party Women’s League led by Rose Namayanja have written to the IGP demanding that he gives a report on the wakiso murders in 7 days or step down.
