The disagreements within The Democratic Party over a joint opposition presidential candidate are far from ever.
A group of the party’s youth wing has petitioned The Democratic Alliance demanding for wider public consultations before a single candidate is selected.
They say they do not trust just a handful of people that have been given the mandate to select a joint candidate for the next president race

This comes as The Democratic Alliance summit sits at Royal suites in Bugoloobi to choose the joint opposition presidential candidate.
The meeting chaired by FDC national chairman Wasswa Biriggwa is attended by candidates Norbert Mao, Gilbert Bukenya, Dr. Kiiza Besigye and former premier Amama Mbabazi.
The Alliance deputy spokesman Sheilla Kawamara is optimistic that by Friday, the alliance will have agreed on the name of the opposition candidate for the 2016 presidential race.
