The Director of Public Prosecutions Mike Chibita wants the 3 jailed former Ministry of Public Service Ministry officials; Jimmy Lwamafa, Stephen Kiwanuka Kunsa and Christopher Obey to refund the 50 billion shillings to government despite their appeal challenging the compensation order.

Jimmy Lwamafa the former permanent Secretary, Obey the former Principle Accountant and Kunsa the former commissioner pensions in the Public Service Ministry were on 11th/November 2016 convicted of syndicate corruption by the Anti-corruption court;

Justice Lawrence Gidudu sentenced them to 5, 7 and ten years imprisonment terms respectively with an order to jointly compensate government with 50 billion shillings out of an 88bn shilling loss that they caused government in unnecessary NSSF remittances of public servants.

According to a letter dated 5th/December 2016 addressed to the Registrar Court of Appeal, the DPP says since there is no order staying the execution of the Anti-corruption court decree.
