A requiem mass is to be held this morning in honor of the former Mulago National Referral Hospital Executive Director Dr. Lawrence Kaggwa at Rubaga Cathedral.

The deceased’s body that was transferred from Mulago hospital mortuary yesterday to his home in Makindye for a night vigil will be taken to the cathedral at 10:00am.

It will then be transported to his ancestral home in Kyanamukaaka, Masaka district for burial slated for tomorrow.

The 69 year old succumbed to cardiovascular respiratory failure last Friday at the Uganda Heart Institute.

He had served as Mulago Hospital boss for 12 years until 2005 and had also been in public service for 35 years where he served in different capacities under the Ministry of Health.

At the time of his death, Dr Kaggwa was a retired senior Consultant Surgeon.
