The Electoral Commission is yet to receive official communication from parliament indicating that there is a vacant woman parliamentary seat in Amuru district.

Early this month the former area MP and state minister for water resigned after being appointed a consultant on Conflict and Violence at the World Bank World.

The spokesperson of the commission Jotham Taremwa says the process of organizing the by –election is yet to start.

Opposition political parties have already resolved to front a joint candidate for the by election.
