Picking of presidential forms starts next week – Electoral Commission

Presidential aspirants are to start picking nomination forms from the electoral commission next week.

According to the programme released by the electoral Commission, aspirants will from the 17th of August 2015 begin picking forms and later nominations kick off on the 5th of October -2015 and on the 6th-October- 2015.

Commission deputy chairperson Joseph Biribonwa says parliamentary aspirants will also be nominated on the 2nd and 3rd of December 2015.

Biribonwa says presidential aspirants will pay 8 million shillings nonrefundable while members of parliament will pay 200,000 shillings to the commission.

He urges aspirants to arrange and go to pick forms from Monday.

He says nomination of district leaders will also happen at the district headquarters from the 2nd of December- 2015.

Meanwhile the display of names singled out as irregular in the just concluded register display exercise starts tomorrow at all parishes.
