The Ministry of Agriculture says 60% of the agricultural inputs which are being used by farmers across the country are un -registered.

The Director Crop Production at the Ministry of agriculture Okasai Opolot says, the problem is big and needs to be addressed if the farmers are to benefit.

He says 30% of the inputs on the market ate fake, and 10% expired, and therefore, if no action is taken the agricultural sector will continue to be affected in terms of development.

He says the Uganda National Bureau of standards, must work together with the ministry to streamline the regulations which has been put in place to address issues affecting agriculture sector, as far as fake agricultural inputs are concerned.
