Former Chief Justice Benjamin Odoki may have to wait a little longer to know his fate.

This is after the Constitutional Court pushed the ruling on a petition challenging his re-appointment.

The ruling was expected today but the Court Clerk says it has been pushed to August 4th after only one out of the five judges turned up this morning.

Western Youth MP Gerald Karuhanga filed a petition before the Constitutional Court challenging Odoki’s re-appointment after clocking the mandatory retirement age of 70.

Karuhanga through his lawyer George Kanyeihamba also faults president Museveni for disregarding the advice from the Judicial Service Commission, re-appointing a retired Chief Justice for another 2 -year term.

He now seeks a permanent injunction against government restraining it from re-appointing Odoki.
