A group of women from Acholi sub region have petitioned Parliament seeking for its intervention in addressing issues faced by war affected women.

Under the Women’s Advocacy Network, the women say they were adversely affected by the LRA conflict yet they have been ignored in several programmes.

They cite their male counterparts who were integrated however there is no mechanism for the support and reintegration.

Access to employment has also been a challenge for them, with the women citing limited access to education opportunities.

They are appealing for urgent gender reparations fund to cater for the immediate needs of war-affected women, as well as easy access to education and health services.
