Former PM Amama Mbabazi has this morning picked up nomination forms for the presidential race.
Earlier Former Makerere University Vice Chancellor Prof. Venancious Baryamureeba, Dr. Deo Lukyamuzi and businessmen Fredrick Kunya & Joseph Mwambazi all picked up nomination forms after paying the mandatory non- refundable Sh8m.
This brings to four, the number of presidential aspirants to have so far picked up forms from the Electoral commission headquarters in Kampala.
The electoral commission’s Public Relations Officer Jotham Taremwa says these are all running on an independent ticket.
Talemwa says the candidates now have to look for 100 signatures seconding them from across the country.
He says the entire exercise will end on 21 of September 2015.
Earlier, the commission announced that the number of supporters accompanying their candidates had this time round been limited to only 3 to avoid congestion.
The rest of aspiring candidates will pick their forms at the offices of their respective district returning officers.
Nominations for presidential aspirants are set for the 5th and 6th-October- 2015 and 2nd and 3rd of December 2015 for parliamentary.
