Former police spokesperson Asan Kasingye will today hand over office to his successor Emillian Kayima, after he was dropped by the police chief yesterday.

The Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura yesterday replaced Kasingye –an Assistant IGP with SSP Emillian Kayima, who has been the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson.

Kayima will be deputized by Assistant Commissioner of Police Polly Namaye who is one rank higher than him.

This has caused confusion in the police communication department on reporting lines.

Kasingye now says he will remain the police political commissar.
