Four people have died in a motor accident that has occurred near Kamuli sugar factory in Kamuli district.
The accident involved a sugar cane laded truck whose driver reportedly lost control and rammed into four pedestrians, killing them instantly.
Kamuli District Traffic Officer Jessica Nyangira attributes the accident to reckless driving, rubbishing claims by the residents that it was an act of ritual sacrifice by the factory owners.
Nyangira adds that the truck that over turned several times also hit a number of animals including goats and cows that were grazing in the near by gardens.
She says investigations into the actual cause of the accident have begun.
