Changes have been made to the FUFA Constitution, with the powers previously given to the president to choose his own executive withdrawn.

The mandate to elect the 13 man executive has now been given to the association.

The number of delegates to the FUFA Assembly will also be cut from 174 to 86 while the executive members will be reduced from 21 to 13.

The said election will be conducted by a neutral and independent electoral committee body to be formed as per the expected new order.

According to FIFA head of national associations Primo Carvano, the old system was undemocratic and unsustainable.

A seven-man committee headed by Entebbe Young’s Anthony Kimuli has been appointed to review the FUFA and Uganda Super league status and deliver a report by July 31.

FUFA and FIFA, through the development manager for Africa Ashford Mamelodi, concurred that the 11-year ban on USL chairman Kavuma Kabenge and the one-year suspension handed to USL CEO Jimmy Ssegawa stand.

The new developments are expected to end the standoff between the two bodies, previously marked by endless conflict.
