Genetically modified crops (GMOs) continue to receive criticism from players in the agriculture sector.

Stella Grace Lutalo the country coordinator for Participatory Ecological Land Use Management says Uganda is not ready for Genetically Modified foods.

Lutalo says GMO advocates seem to ignore the relevance of food security and are instead focusing on short-term gains.

Last Thursday a group of young farmers issued a 14-day ultimatum to parliament to pass the GMO bill or get ready for countrywide demonstrations.
